Apparently it is a tuner of sorts. I would like to hear the science behind it. Im using a suppressor anyway.

Hey Ben, is it eccentric so when it rotates it changes the Harmonics. Seen some homemade ones which worked off that principal.

We use them in SB Silhouette, too, often on a shortened barrel in order to adjust balance and/or overall weight. Hang a small weight out near the end, it can really help "hang" for standing shooting. Some like the idea that shorter barrel time reduces criticality of follow through.

I used to have one on my anschutz match 54. Definitely to extend the sight radius on open sights.

They are known by many names the two most common I have heard are barrel extension and bloop tube.
