IMR 8208 XBR is another powder to look at. I was previous shooting 123 Scenar with RE15 but it is a bit temperature sensitive. I tested IMR 8208 XBR and it did tighten the groups but haven't shot in the heat yet.
Please expound on XBR & the 6.5x47. From all the research I've done, it shoots well but leaves something to be desired in the velocity department. I'm all ears!
Be careful running that fast. I changed pills due to throat erosion so I have a little more in the boiler room than usual. 38.5 gave me a vertical spread, 39.0 a horizontal and 39.3 brought them together. Going to try it at 385m this weekend to see if they stay together. Much of our shooting is done between 425 and 925 yards. You never know what will happen to a load when it is stretched out. I am using a Tubbs muzzle brake which you can use to tune harmonics to a point.
I went out this mornin and shot my first 2 groups with the A maxes and I get 4 into a nice little sweet group THEN I get one out in the boonies (about 1/2")
both groups of 5 had 4 tho diff in seating depth so what is causing that? ideas
