Hello all. I just picked up a SN-3 tpal USO scope that came with a turret for .308 and one for 300wm. The 300 is marked the .308 is not. I called USO and they looked up the scope and said it was built with a generic .308 elevation turret. I asked what weight and velocity it was designed for and the lady said it is just generic. She thought it may be a 168gr but did not know for sure. The scope is a 1/2MOA per click. The markings for yardages are as follows in clicks/moa
100-0-0
200-4- 2moa
300-6- 3moa,-----5moa from zero
400-6- 3moa,-----8
500-7- 3.5moa,---11.5
600-8- 4moa,-----15.5
700-9- 4.5moa,---20
800-11- 5.5moa,--25.5
900-11- 5.5moa,--31
1000-13- 6.5moa,-37.5
I will play with my balistics calculator tonight and see what comes up close. I just wanted to see if this is a common knob or if anyone knows them off the top of their head. I am in denver and do most of my shooting at 6000-1000ft elevation so I don't know how close I will be to the marks on the turret. Any info is appreciated.

Re: Help with calibrated elevation on USO

Are those clicks between yardages, and added to the previous number?

As in:
Yds-Total Clicks-MOA
100-0-0
200-4-2
300-10-5.5
400-16-8
500-23-11.5
600-31-16.5
700-40-20
800-51-25.5
900-62-31
1000-75-37.5

which is close to 175 M118LR dope......and is how my USO Scout Sniper Day Scope was setup.

If not, its marked for a laser, because nothing shoulder mounted and powder propelled makes it to 1000 with 6 minutes....

A picture would help.

Was just thinking the same thing!

It is probably for 168 at 2650 at 70F.

Shoot it at known distances with your preferred load and write down your dope. Make a small chart and tape it to your stock or laminate it and hang it off your rings or scope. Just note the difference between your load and the what's marked.
ie- 500=5-2 if your load gets to 500 with 10.5 moa, etc......

A regular 1/2 min turret wouldn't set you back too much from USO.

John-Did you get my email?

Re: Help with calibrated elevation on USO

Thanks guys. I will work up my own dope on my next outing. I have alot of 168s ready to go. I am really looking for info on what the knob is for so I can sell it after I replace it to someone who can use it as marked, if possible.

Re: Help with calibrated elevation on USO

Ok, I made it home and ran some numbers thru dop3.com and the 168 is very close on most of the range intervals. I bumped it up to 6000ft elevation and 30% humidity and I will have to make a dope chart but that was expected. Thanks guys.
