I just purchased a Nightforce NXS Compact 1-4 with mil-dot reticle - it is great...but I noted that there is some oil/grease looking smudge at the 9 o'clock position. It is transparent so probably some type of oil. It is also only visible at the 1x magnification. Zooming in beyond 1.5x or so makes it disappear in the periphery. My assumption is there is something on one of the inner lenses, as careful cleaning of the front and rear does nothing. I plan to call on Monday but was curious if anyone has had any similar experience or thoughts? Thanks. -JL

Re: Help with dirty lens...

Congrats on the new scope, Outside of the oil smudge on the lens I am sure you will like it. I have never seen this on a NF. However I am sure it is possible. Likely some assembly grease when they manufactured it. It may cost you shipping, but NF will take care of fixing it for you. Send it in to them. -Brandon
