Just did some shooting

Please see target and give me your thoughts, load info is on the bottom of the
Target. noticed a little swiping in the 2 highest loads, but I don't know how to tell if that's too much pressure or not

Temps are cold like -12 C

Re: Help with OCW load work up

I would test seating depth at 44.1. Node appears to be from 43.8-44.4. I've noticed with my OCW targets the groups tend to form vertical strings, then transitioning to horizontal before going spastic as you pass through the node. I always try seating depth at a spot right when it's changing from vertical and horizontal. Tends to produce the most stable load for me.

I would bet that if you lengthened the OAL by 0.005" on the 44.1 you'd get your best group, although it looks pretty good as is. Im no expert on load development, but that's what I would do.

What rifle and barrel length for curiosity? There are alot of guys it seems that do well around 44 grains of Varget with the 178 Amax.

Re: Help with OCW load work up

rem 700 5r

100 yards

Col 2.825

I made the rookie mistake of leaving my 20x scope at 10x

Would have been somewhat tighter
This gun shoots really well
I have often shot .375 5 shot groups

But really open up at 400-600

That's why I am trying this
