I recently found rust on my TPS 35 mm scope rings, which are less than two years old. The rust is on both the upper and lower ring pieces where the scope tube makes contact. I lapped the rings, but I did not re-blue the inner surfaces. I am now going to thoroughly clean and re-blue. (Unless someone else has better solution). This rifle spent some time in wet weather, but has been taken care of with no rust in any other place. I throroughly clean and lube. Is cleaning and re-bluing sufficient or is there a better alternative?
Thanks,
