Hello,
I'm also looking for some sling suggestions for an AR15. I like the TAB gear sling. I like the idea of having the front loop, otherwise I'd just do a basic 2pt setup. What would be the best attachment method for me? I have rails up front, and a fixed A1 stock. Here's a pic of my rifle.

Thanks!

Re: Help with sling setup for AR15 SPR

If you have a flush cup swivel attachment point in one of the rails up front I can build a sling that would attach to the slot in the butt stock and flush cup up front. Basically, I can make a sling to fit any attachment method you have, in any combination you can come up with.

Re: Help with sling setup for AR15 SPR

My 2 Cents.
A sling for carry or off hand shooting is very handy, however I like getting the sling out of the way when Bipod Supported. Especially on the back end. With an A1 or A2 stock unhooking the back end is a little more of a challenge if the sling is looped through the attachment point.
Back in the day when I was in the Army if I remember correctly we had a metal clip on the sling to attach to the rifle sling point. Not real popular in combat due to the rattle. If one could be located, this could be unhooked easily to get the sling out of the road when on the BiPod. The front should not be a big deal with the rail.

I want something that will allow for some support while shooting. I like the idea of using some sort of hook attachment for the rear point on my stock. I'm not sure if an HK hook will work with the stock steel loop.

Re: Help with sling setup for AR15 SPR

Just looking through my stuff. My old AR sling has an Uncle Mike style front (Tube Forend has Stud) and a Nylon rear that slides to unlock and remove from A1 and A2. No Idea where I got the sliding attachment point.

My Accuracy International Sling ends are fixed and would not be ideal on an A1 or A2 stock in my opinion.

I also have a couple of swiveling end ones that are close to H&K that came with some gear I ordered. Looks like they will take a 1-1/4" Sling. If you want them hit me with an E-mail. My office E-mail is listed in my profile.

Get with Tburkes.
You will need to get an attachment point for one of the rails.

PRI has these http://www.pri-mounts.com/mm5/merchant.m...de=AR15_M16_ACC
or
Midwest Industries http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=80

Put it on the bottom rail of your PRI tube
I'd get the heavy duty quick release.
Then get a sling with a service style hook for the back,M14 style.

Also just a thought I put the long rail on the bottom.
You should still be able to get the ARMS rail on with one of the short rails.

Re: Help with sling setup for AR15 SPR

I have it figured out. I'm going to use the standard sling swivels. I found a swivel stud to replace the rear loop, and I'll put another one up front on my PRI FF tube or rail. Thanks for all the help!
