Hello

Just picked up an action and stock combo. Seller could not tell me anything on stock. It does have a aluminum bedding block

That's interesting. Other than the vents in the forend it's identical to the HS Precision stocks that came on the old VS, VSSF, and Sendero models. I've never seen them with vents though but somebody could have easily added those on a milling machine to aide in cooling. What does the finish inside the vents look like?

I've got no doubt it's a HS precision. I'd call HS and ask if they ever made it with vents if you're that curious. If they didn't somebody definitely added them.

Looks like a B&C 2958 that someone took a milling machine to.

Edit: looks more like a HSP sendero stock that was molested, as BMX said.

I had it pegged for either the HS or the B&C. Specifically with the bedding block. It was bedded and in the pics you can see where the bedding was machined, so it was done by a pro, or at least by someone who knows what they were doing.

I do not have this stock in hand, and can't speak to the finish on the vents, but if they are not paint matching to the stock I guess I have my answer. I stuck my neck out a little on the deal. I need to sell the stock and a few other items to get it within budget. Kind of jazzed up, now just to identify caliber for the build,,,,

What did you pay for it? Anything under $250 for the stock alone or $300 with the bottom metal is a fair deal. The vents look well done from the pic so I only seeing that being an advantage because it will indeed help with cooling.

It was a GB purchase, basically a complete rifle minus a barrel. Need to move the stock and the ring/base combo to justify it. And you pretty much pegged the range I had in mind, but given its bedded, I figured 200 range, need to keep the factory BM.

Comes with a set of kelbly rings and two piece bases, Jewell trigger, ad said it was blueprinted,,,, so with any luck I'll be GTG. For caliber I was thinking 308, this is going to be a range toy. In something like the GAP ROCK for profile, weight, etc. Most likely they will do work too on the action. Very pleased with service from them on a recent 6.5saum build. But again, not totally sold on caliber, this is my current centerfire invertory

375 Ruger- hunting configuration
300wm - heavy hunter
6.5saum - another hunter (very new to me, 20 rounds down the tube)
6 dasher - F Class

All pretty high intensity calibers, besides the dasher, want a pussycat range gun, shots to 1000 max (most likely 500-800). Load for the 308 too in a FAL. Must be lapua brass,,,, so have the 260, 7/08, 6.5x47, 308. Thinking of staying in the 6.5-.308 just in case it gets duty as a hunting arm. Deer/caribou size critters.

Been kind of think the 308 is kind of like the 22lr,,,,,just something everyone should have one of! Based pretty much from trolling this site for awhile

My experience with bell and Carlson stocks is that it'd be stamped somewhere in the channel with a few digits for the model number, don't remember on h-s stocks
