been contemplating the Hensoldt 3.5-26 for a few years, and even the 6-24, but just cannot get past the CW turrets instead of CCW like 98% of everyone else.

all my other high end glass , NF/Kahles/ZCO is all CCW.... just is baffling to me why Hensoldt wouldnt put CCW turrets on such a high end scope?

Not just European armies but European shooters in general use CW turrets, it's because they are backwards over there  I don't think Hensoldt really cares about the US Civilian market to be honest, they are a niche optics manufacturer that focuses more on military contracts.

I heard one time (prior to purchasing my Hensoldt) that the numbers increase like you're reading a book... Which is the way they like it I guess. Probably kinda like the inch system or MOA's, everybody seems to be standardizing to a different system but it seems like there's always a small group that can't/won't let it go.

CW is the correct orientation of numbers on a scope turret.

Have had one of Nathan Hunts 4-16 for about a decade, switch between cw and ccw, no issues. If the 3.5-26 didnt need a 1.5 mount for the battery compartment I would probably have one. By far the nicest scope I have ever used. Forget about the cw, not an issue.

I had a CW Schmidt for a short while, muscle memory with all my other CCW scopes had me turning it the wrong way, for me, that was an issue. ;)

You think that's weird. Only French and Russian helicopter rotor systems turn clockwise. Everyone else's turn counterclockwise. This makes the pedal manipulation reversed when operating from one to the other. Guess some folks have to be different.

I have a 4-16x56 Henny and love the best eybox in the business despite the CW turrets.
