I really can't say. It's a lot, very forgiving, that's actually one of the best features of the scope.

That's what a guy at the range said. If I can see the numbers compared to a S&B it would help me understand it.

About 3.5" give or take a bit... it's not so much about the eye relief, it's the exit pupil and the eye box you have to work with.

So how much better is the eye relief of a Hensolt compared to the same power S&B? Thanks

I just a comparison for someone, brought 2 S&B and 2 Hensoldts, the consensus was the Hensoldt is better... its more forgiving.
Had both 3-12X and 4-16X as well comments were made about the length of the overall scope. Both Hensoldts are shorter than the comparable S&B.
It's not so much when you are straight behind it, it's when you are slightly out of position like when shooting from something other than prone you see the benefits. Edge to edge clarity remains much further from center.
They are close to each other, but the design of the Hensoldt, the fact they 56mm makes them more forgiving. Frankly I wouldn't lose sleep over it either way.

It's the most forgiving of all the high end scope I've used. If you do a great deal of shooting in the field where you have to assume a less than ideal position, this scope really shines.
