Sure, but I also understand the concept of double standards.
Everytime a mass shooting occurs everyone is saying that it is important to warn the government if they know someone whom they suspect has a screw loose. This man was reported for that and he even proved the allegations right.
A normal person would've followed instructions and stayed alive.
Old news, but you guys who think the popo will be on your side are fucking stupid.
How many molon labe patriot guys showed up to put the govt in their place ? It's been almost a year and all I still hear are crickets....

there's a perfectly good "24 pscych" hold. No need to seize property that is not yours and is actually protected under your rights as an American citizen. If we keep changing the rules to fit the current "mood", we'd be subjects rather than citizens.
Staying alive isn't the most important thing...just saying.

You want to kidnap people and hold them hostage so people that hate us and hate our ideas, religion, beliefs, politics, gender, sexuality, skin color and everything else about us get to say if we are normal according to them?
And the supposed person denouncing us gets to stay anonymous and is protected from being sued & criminal charges filed on them for malicious reporting?
I suggest that you best think carefully about the nightmare you are setting up.
There is a reason the constitution requires that you have your day in court BEFORE you get your rights taken away on a whim having done nothing wrong and that you have a right to face your accuser and see the evidence against you and force those speaking against you to speak under oath with the threat of punishment if you can prove they lied.
"Mental Health" has been used by all the evil regimes as their favorite weapon to excuse grabbing their opponents.
Most of those "Mental Health" types are dyed in the wool communists and haters of freedom.
No, not at all. I'm just suggesting using current 'laws' to deal with mentally ill citizens rather than steal their rights and property. I'm also not blind to taking someone into a psych hold w/o due process. You do bring up a very valid argument.
Enjoy your time in the camps on your knees.
So I guess you don't believe in innocent until proven guilty?Sure, but I also understand the concept of double standards.

Yeah cause fuck all those old amendments. Fuck facing your accuser. Fuck no search or seizure. Fuck due process amiright....and this guy wasnt going to jail. He was getting his weapons siezed during an investigation that was going to take place, because he was Red Flagged.
The same thing would happen to a muslim gun-owner that you suspected he would hurt someone.
But since this man wasn't a muslim I guess he has more rights.....

If he was a U.S. citizen vs someone who was not, yes he has more rights.
Suggest googling "slippery slope", and watching the movie, "Minority Report".
Seriously, why are you on a pro-gun forum and advocating that it is ok to seize someone's firearms based on an inkling?
Because he is a gun owner and he clearly see things different from you. Why do you have to get personal?
Debate by making a point, not by pointing.....
Yup, do that. So far you haven't but try to do it from now on.Add to the debate or troll away...

Has to go through the lower courts first if they lose all the way there then they choose to hear the case or send it back to the lower court. Very brief overview I'm sure some better explanations are available here. That's why some lawsuits don't want to win at a lower level court they want the big win at scotus.Any lawyers here?
What is the process for getting scotus to hear a case?
These people are clearly violating the constitution.
I do. That's why I cant understand why Steven Avery is still in jail.... crazy justice system for sure.
Don't misconstrue my comments meaning Im giving up easily or Im even capable of fighting back...just pointing out a righteous death is more "valuable" long term then giving in because "I didn't want to die" whiny shit liberal media pushes forces us to keel over our freedoms more and more every day.
Everyone dies. Have you thought about that? I mean really considered that? Very few have.
The BS thing is the wording of these laws. Have you read them? Just passed in CO. You are "guilty until proven innocent." WTF is that??
Im not old (35 with 3 little boys) and Im not ready to die either. Ive got a family to look after. Ive asked myself daily what if the man comes to get my weapons because my neighbor who already hates me because I own an outside dog and has repeatedly called the cops on me for animal abuse and LIED to try to get me in trouble. Tthere will be no hesitation if they think they can get my guns and laugh because they are doing the right thing.
Yea I don't know either. easy to say things on the internet. Walking the walk on the other hand...

I'm not a lawyer, but I know a little. The first thing you need is someone with standing- meaning someone needs to be affected by the law. Not "I'm an American and these laws are fucked up" affected but rather "my second and 4th amendment rights were ACTUALLY violated when the police busted down my door and removed my property without due process" affected. Then you're going to need a lawyer willing to go all the way. For that, you'll need a pile of cash- so probably also the backing of a national gun rights organization. And all that only if the defendant lives through the initial encounter with the police confiscating the firearms. AND, that person will neeed to be able to show that he is not a mentally unstable.Any lawyers here?
