Im not very fond of the flat head screws for my Atlas CAL....i switch it quite often between my 6.5 and my t1x.....and i don't always have a flat head on me, but i do always have a hex set.

Has anyone replaced their flat head with a hex or torx? If so...link to bolts that fit with no modifications?

I feel the same as OP, torx preferred but hex would do. The place I went is a local hardware with a nice selection but I struck out, it was the only place I tried so the search continues.

They might have a hex head that would work but that is not what I wanted so I passed those bins.

Why hex head and not just use an allen socket head cap screw ?

See @Tortuga post.

In my 40hr the majority is "Internal Hex" and Torx, a conversation with co-workers we would just say Hex and understand. There is very limited usage of Hex as you are thinking; if it is we say Hex head as I did above. My Hex or Torx remark is just a carry over from my 40hr.

Of course you are right, we call them "Socket Head Cap Screw".... I was told "Allen" as in "Allen Wrench" is a trade name thus the "Hex Wrench" header when searching for such tools and fasteners... They literally write books about fasteners. Thank you for the correction.

Not sure what your "40hr" is or means but all is good. Was just making sure you were looking for the correct item you needed.
Actually the most common and correct usage of a hex bolt is a hex head but again all is well.
I have ordered thousands of bolts and machine screws many of which were special order, special material or specific coatings and if you werent specific you end up with the wrong product.
