I've got a work thing in Springfield, MO in early April, and my wife wants to go.

Company won't pay for anyone but me to fly, but they will reimburse gas/etc if I drive.

From what I gather on the gun laws in both states, I should be fine bringing along a couple or three rifles and handguns.

It'd be fuckin' amazing if there was some way I could work out a nice secluded setting for my oldest son (3 1/2) to do some plinking with a .22LR.

Also would be pretty nice to stretch the .308 out a bit, maybe have a barbecue (I've got lots of TX Whitetail steaks/sausage/etc to contribute!), campfire, all that kinda stuff.

Where's some good spots to meet up with old timers and shoot shit along the way?

Not sure if you're on Facebook or not, but there is the Missouri Steel Tactical (MOST) page that posts links to a few ranges.

Here's a calendar that posts most of them. Check the Google to see their websites.

Lots of lakes and rivers for fishing. There are a few public ranges, and clubs around fairly close to Springfield. North Central Arkansas it's a bit harder to find clubs/ranges. There is White Ranch just out of West Plains, MO. I have a 300 yd range in my back yard, and a spot to shoot 800 yd, I'm about 30 mins south of West Plains.

Springfield should have a shitload of stuff to do. There’s more guns there than you could shake a stick at. A quick web search should turn up the goods.

I really like Springfield.....at least as much as I can like an urban area. I live mid-way between Memphis, Little Rock, and Springfield, I pick Springfield everytime if I get a choice in the matter.

The armory isnt in springfield MO.

Thats Springfield Mass.

Or where the current Springfield Armory Inc is in Ill.

Perhaps I wasnt following as well as I thought.

Beautiful area down around there in MO. Went there a lot as a kid.
