High Desert Tactical monthly match June 9th

OK our first match will be on Saturday June 9th. No more than 80 rounds will be needed probably closer to 50-60rds. We have room for 20 shooters and may have room for more in the future. We will be in the hills 20 south of Pocatello on private property, everyone will need to sign a release form. I will get a map up shortly. Cost will be $20.00 and we start shooting at 8:30am
Targets will be from in your face out to 1000 yards both paper and steel.

Head south out of Pocatello on Mink Creek road. Turn left on to Upper Rattlesnake rd which is 20 miles from Indian Hills School. Go about a mile down Rattlesnake and its the first/only house on the left. There is a road to the right side of the house that is fairly steep at one point so cars might not make it, we can shuttle people and gear up to the firing line.

Wish like hell I could be there. I'm on call that week and have to keep a 30 minute response time. Looking forward to the next one already!

No problem Christian, I knew we would end up with schedule conflicts with so many comps in the region. I'll have to get with Eric before I schedule next months event.

I have to fix the IED target, I blew it up yesterday. It needs to be quite a bit beefier. I didn't think it would be to bad because the explosion is not contained but a 1/2lb tub bent a piece of angle iron in two directions and broke welds.

Oh man I am sorry I didn't even realise I did that untill I saw Christians post. I wish I could set a weekned every month for matches but I am oncall for work every three weeks and it just messes everything up any more. It is hard to schedual anything anymore with all the great matches locally now. I might try hosting evening shoots while the days are longer.

Good luck, I bet you host an excellent match. I will be up there this year for sure.

We had a good first shoot but we did end up calling it off half way through because of a huge dust storm that came up. I had to tear my rifle completely down to get all the dirt out. My trigger that is normally just under two pounds was around six pounds and there was enough dirt between the chassis and the skins to plant a garden in.
