Hello, Good evening all. I am look at purchasing a high end ar 10. Nothing to crazy in price $2700 and under. I am not sure what I am looking for tbh. I have held the DD5 V5 V4 and some of the savages but nothing else. Just curious on what you guys look for in one? I plan to get it in 6.5 as I don't own a rifle in that caliber any more and I loved it when I had it. Plus I still have some ammo left. I don't reload so that is not an option.

Right now its the V5, CA-10 G2(stainless steel), and Seekins Ar10. I may take shots out to 500 yards but most will be under. Plan to use it to kill hows and other varmin in the area.

I appreciate the insight that you guys have.

Thanks

Jay

Seekins SP10 would be my vote at that price.

Never had my hands on one myself, but folks all over say they are lasers. My main concern with any firearms is reliability, second is accuracy, and the SP10 is said to have both going for it.

Great fit for OP's requirements.

Lightly used LaRue OBR/PredatOBRs often go at this price point as well.

im not sure. I figured I wanted it to be some what lght under 10lbs if possible but if not then ill just have to deal with it. Someone told me daniel does 40% for law enforcement or miliary not sure if thats true but if it is at that price is it better? it would be like $1499.

THanks for the help .

This. An AR10 is a battle rifle.

Buy what the whole Commonwealth of Great Briton, the Estonians and other have as their primary battle rifle.

And, swapping barrels between 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor is stupid easy.

You can get into an LMT MWS for that easily. You really can’t beat them for large frame.

I’ve got an SP-10 in 6.5 CM that I’ve really enjoyed shooting. I know the rifle is more accurate than I am. I bought it used, and it’s run pretty well for me. I think it’s a little over 10 lbs. before optics and ammo. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from buying one.

Having said that, the LMT is a really interesting rifle. I’ve never seen one in person, but they sound accurate, reliable, and a great option. The nice thing about the MWS is that you can jump over to a different caliber in just a few moments.

Yeah, Larue would be at $1,200 depending on your selected options. Might have a wait...

10 pound threshold with an 18+ barrel for 6.5C is probably gonna be hard. 16” 308 most could probably get in there.

Good luck.
