Re: HK 3 lug to thread adaptor
There was a time everyone wanted to go from threads to 3-lug and adapters, the adapters to do that are still readily found. Now, folks want to go from 3 lug to threaded and it considerably more important to hold critical dimensions and some considerable skill is required to make this happen as an "adapter". I've tried many and have stopped using them.
The most practical way to insure a safe transition is to thread the barrel stub post the three way lug. As you might expect, removing the MP5 barrel is not an easy task and there are very few houses that I trust to do the job properly. Some thread the stub while the barrel is mounted, it can be done well by very few. Having said that, over the years I have used threaded/3 lugs arrangements and they work perfectly. Also, please note that a few houses still produce cans that employ three lug lead ins.
Start here, there are others.

Also, this very same technique is the very best way to transition from MAC threading in the 10 and 11 back to the more common and standard threadings as well.

Good work in the MP5 arena is expensive, much of it can adversely effect the host and ruin both performance and valuation. In the end it boils down to a simple question...
"Why am I not buying a 3-lug can expressly for my MP-5 and not altering my host in any way?"
