The easiest .45 I have ever shot to double and triple tap with, not that you would ned to with a .45 though.
Big, yes. Well build, yes. Accurate, YES. purpose built, FUCK YES.
Unless you need an offensive .45 built to be suppresed then this may not be the .45 for you. It is big and I have medium hands and have 0 problems with it.
As always if it fits your needs than yes, if it doesnt than no. If your need is having an extra $1500-$2k in your pockeat and want it then go for it.
In my opinion it IS worth the $$$, but then again so are several other .45's in this price range.

It is massive, but I liked it a lot. Just don't think I want to spend that kind of money on a handgun. It looks like the USP Tactical is similar, have you had any experience with it?

the big drawback can be accessories. the rail is propriatery. but it is unique, and fun.best suited to a thigh holster or across the chest/attached on vest etc.

I would go with the USP tactical and take the extra $$$ and buy some assy's to go with it!!!!

Having owned both the Mark and the hk45, I sold my Mark in favor of going with the Hk45. The Mark is a fantastic pistol and don't let the size scare you. Its remarkably light and balanced for it sheer size. But its a big hunkin pistol, whereas the newer hk45 has the same recoil, better parts availiblity, just as accurate, less money and regualr size. To me, the Mark is quickly becoming an interesting collectible.

I have one and love it, but it takes up about as much realestate as a MP5k. I'd rather carry a subgun.

I don't see how the size matters, as this is NOT a concealed carry piece. The weight is the same as a 5" 1911 but is distributed over a larger area and balances nicely. Unless you're trying to conceal it for some reason, who cares about the size?

IMO, if you are going to spend 2k on a .45, look into a Nighthawk or Wilson.
That being said, my Kimber Warrior is everything I've ever dreamed of in a .45

if you want night sights send the slide to trijicon.let them know what supressor so they can make them the correct height to clear the can.

I actually got to play with a USP Expert on Saturday, I was very impressed. This just keeps getting harder.

I'd rely on the MK23 over a 1911 any day. They brutally tested it in every conceivable hard use environment and can still maintain incredible out of box accuracy. It's easy take down, high capacity and ready to a host a suppressor.
It's definitely a field gun of choice...as long as you don't have Hobbit Hands, lol

Unless you intend to use it for offensive purposes under covert situation, there is very little more to gain from having the Tactical model. It's cheaper, lighter, damn accurate, high cap., suppressor capable out of the box, for 1 K less.
Don't get me wrong, the MK23 is a well built handgun. It's superbly accurate, but it weighs a ton. Wouldn't want to lug that around my waist all day that's for sure.

I never thought the MK23 weighed that much more than a standard USP, it is very bulky though. For a civilian it is more of a collector/range gun. I only saw one of these carried my whole time in Afghanistan and that was by a SEAL LT on our task force in a Safariland thigh holster. Im not sure if he was carrying it to look bad or what...most SEALs I saw that carried handguns carried the Sig P226.

I gave it some serious thought back when they were quite plentiful and readily available (and a number of initial buyers unloading them without having been fired much).
I ended up with a pair of USP-Tactical's instead. The Mk23, for me, was simply too big. Or, put another way, IT'S HUGE.

I had one with full kit to include suppressor, both laser sights, light etc. Fully loaded the thing weighed about the same as a MP5. If you get the suppressor that's made for it, it's quite a unit. Definitely not something you would want for CCW though.

best pistol i own and use, if any one has the laser/light unit for sale i will pay top $,
really hard to get extras here in the uk , run it with the b&t suppressor,
iam a fairly big chap so it feels about right for me, the wife though , well she cant handle it !!

It does not "weigh a ton". It is under 40oz, just like 5" 1911.

Anyway, not very impressed with the trigger. Rather atrocius IMO for a high dollar weapon.
For collecting and only guy on the block with one cool guy factor you're set but if you want a shooter get the USP.

I have the Sig P250 for carry, which I cannot say enough good things about. After handling just about everything in the HK lineup, I have decided that the USP Expert fits the size and needs I'm looking for in a full size .45.
