2 stage trigger my heinie! Tons of creep trigger OK for a battle rifle but NOT a "match rifle". Am surprised I am getting 1" groups with 168gr Fed Match probably will settle down with an excellant trigger set up so HELP ME WHO CAN DO TRIGGER WORK on this monster?? Has potential but again trigger not acceptable. Also general thoughts and observations seems well built definately sturdy and rather bulky ( which is OK ), ambi safety digs into trigger hand with recoil to the point of irritation when shooting off tripod but ok with sand bag rest, accessories simply not available from HK except mags which are $86 each they say check back in March for accessories, definately needs rail covers as rails will bite hands and I can't find any rail covers which fit properly on these rails again HK covers maybe in March, piston system does seem to be awesome but I only have 120 rounds downrange; cleaned barrel several times rest does stay clean to date.......HELP ME WITH A SMITH WHO CAN CLEAN THIS TRIGGER SYSTEM UP and we might have something....

Re: HK MR762A1 SHOOTING IMPRESSIONS

I sent in to jp precision today along with an MR556a1 which has a more atrocious trigger than the 762. Tried to put a sling on them but unfortunately you need a "sling adapter" for the civilian versions which are not yet available and no one knows when they will be. Giesselle makes triggers for the HK416 and HK417 and say's on their next gov't contract they will build a batch of overruns which they will then modify for the semi auto rifles at a cost of $400. Seems odd the govt buys a bunch of HK rifles and then as a seperate contract buys triggers for these rifles since they suck so bad from HK. Why can't HK just do it right from the start, and in addition if they are going to sell a 4k rifle they should have their parts and accessories in place first. Now that I'm on a bitch roll the super hyped "match barrel" seems like a bunch of crap too BUT I will give them the benefit of the doubt til I shoot more.

Kick ass rig. Sucks that the mags are so pricey and you have to deal with a trigger issue. I would think HK would have got it right from the start - normally their stuff is rock solid. All of our MP5SD's shoot lights out and triggers are great. Guess they just need another 5-10 years to perfect the system.

How much total was you rig?
