Hodgdon Varget in 5lb containers?????

Does anyone know of Hodgdon Varget came in 5lb containers in the late 90’s?

As far as I know a jug of Varget was always 8 pounds, Alliant has marketed 5 pound bottles of rifle powder.

I was able to get some from Brownells, but they had a 2 lb limit, so:

- Not enough
- Too expensive per pound

Yeah I’ve seen it a couple of times between Midway and Brownells at the 2lb limit which doesn’t do much good for anyone

The price per pound on Brownells was $48.99 + tax + shipping + hazmat fee came out about $68/pound.

It's better than the gougers on Gun Broker (>$100/lb), but you're right, scrounging the interwebs for a couple lbs is not all that helpful.
