Hogans AR-10 Build next week ??

So im thinking about going a AR 10 build prolly doing a upper/lower rec. from hogans for my father for x-mas, fixed-stock, 14.5 barrel with sure compensator. A different kind of set up for the old and seeing he has no rifles under 20''.

what kind of barrels are people using on hogans??
what are peoples opinions using hogan parts ??

I would avoid Hogan like the plague right now. Court drama with POF, barrel compatibility, questionable quality being reported and so on.

There's MANY fine receivers out there. I have two built off of JD Machine receivers that are great, and MEGA has a great set out there too for something different than the standard DPMS receiver set. Get your parts now because they're going VERY fast and I'm happy I wasn't planning on buying another semi auto for the next year.

Big +1 for mega, I've used 2 sets of their 556 receivers and 1 of the 308 flavor and all were beautifully machined.

Another +1 for Mega. Heard good things about JD as well.

POF/Hogan burned their bridge with me years ago.
