Any of you have any experience with these. Looking to drop my win m70 hunting rig into a new stock or pillar bed the factory stock. Wanting to squeeze out a little more accuracy but not drop a lot of cash. Your thoughts

Re: hogue pillar bedded stocks

I have one on my Howa that I use for deerstalking.

Its not a bad stock for the money and by Howa regularly groups loads its likes under 3/4 MOA so for standard factory rifle with a skinny barrel, thats not bad.

The stock itself wasn't very rigid in the forearm area, especially when shooting from a bipod. I cured it by filling the hollow area with epoxy and glass...

The recoil pad works, but its kinda thin; I swear you could push your finger through the rubber if you tried, but it has held up ok...

I'm restocking my Howa, but not because I have to, but simply want something a bit different. For the price, the Hogue is a decent stock, but if I were buying another (and I would) I'd get the one with the full alloy "skeleton" rather than the pillar bedded one...
