Veterans day is near. Each year I go through some of my prize postitions;
This first is a 75 mm Shell my stepdaughter gave me. Its a inert shell from the 81st Inf Division, WWI, with the name of the unit and its campaines ending with the date November 11, 1919.
Next is a book written in 1919. FREEDOM'S TRIUMPH, the Why, When, and Were of the European Conflict. I got the book at a garage sale in Indiana. Can't figure why anyone would sell such a book.
A couple years later,(after buying the book) I was showing it to someone and found the greatest treasure of all, I completely missed in when I got the book. Its a crushed poppy from WWI hidden in the pages of history.
