Hopefully someone can help me find a holster to fit my Sig P226 Elite. I am looking for one to use in competitions. Some competitions require that the holster have a rear flap.

The rear flap is my problem. I called Safariland and they do not make one to fit the Sig with a beaver tail. I have looked at BlackHawk and don't not see the rear flap on their holsters.

I have no preference in regards to drop leg or hip carry. If any of you know of a good holster that will fit my needs, I would appreciate the help.

B.A. Custom Kydex can probably make you anything that you want. I know they are going to order a railed 226 blue gun to start making holsters from here in the next week or so. It looks like the 226 Elite just has the longer beavertail but other than that it looks like a regular railed 226. That being said I dont see why B.A. couldnt make you a holster for a railed 226 and make a piece that would come up across the hammer to cover it and give more retention.

Drop em an email if you want. [email protected]

It looks like the 2012 Sniper's Hide Cup is. I did not get in, but I was reading the rules and this is in section 2 "<span style="color: #FF0000">[color:#FF0000][color:#FF0000]Holster must be "mounted" to your person only. Cross-draw and "small of back" configurations are not allowed regardless of where the holster is mounted. Drop-thigh holsters are permitted if they are of a retention-style flap holster* only. (* For the purposes of this rule, a holster is a flap holster if it has a movable part that covers the rear of the pistol and physically prevents the pistol from leaving the holster, and is held in position by some mechanism such as a hook, latch, button, etc. A retention holster without a rear flap doe</span>s not quality.)"

I am just getting started into competitions and want to make sure I am in compliance. I don't want to get to any comps. and be disqualified from a stage because of my holster.

Thanks for the replies. I will give Kaluban Cloak and Custom Kydex a look.

Ahh ok, a drop thigh .. meaning its worn on the thigh. I personally dont like thigh rigs but if thats what you prefer then thats what you prefer. I would rather run a dropped and offset holster than a thigh rig. A dropped offset still attaches to your belt but it places the pistol lower from your belt and out way from you slightly.

Personally thats what I would look into is a dropped and offset. I know that BA offers a dropped and offset with Tek Lok attachments that work with just about any belt out there. They are making 2 different styles of the dropped an offset. One is what they are calling the USPSA version that the holster itself is cut below the ejection port so its quicker out of the holster. They are also making a 3 gun version that covers the gun more and basically has a rear sight protector and offers a little more protection, and the 3 gun dropped and offset is offered with finger adjustable tension screws.

I think I would rather run a hip holster. After reading the rule again it looks like you don't have to have a flap if you are using a hip holster, only if you are using drop thigh holster?

I should have read that more carefully.
