An elderly woman woke up around 12:30 AM Tuesday morning in Houston to find a man wearing nursing scrubs and carrying all of the items of a visiting home health nurse knocking on her door. Not fooled by the ruse, she calls her son, who immediately arrives to check out the situation. By the time the woman's son reaches the home, the man had been trying to force his way inside, whereupon he was shot dead by the son. Incident is still under investigation.

Shitbag had obviously been casing the victim for some time and probably noticed that she used home health services.

Hey stupid, I know some old habits are hard to deviate from but maybe next time try your home invasion at normal Visiting Angels daytime hours.

Oh wait, there won't be any next time. nvm

Thats odd, they don't have a name or show a pic of the perp.

Detectives need to start IMMEDIATELY looking into each of the nurses who interacted with the victim or had access to her records and address. Most likely a partner or family member of someone who is employed to care for her. A person who has access into her home assumed she had valuables for the taking, and then told their buddy/partner/whatever "yo, lets hit this one up sometime later". That is the angle this investigation needs to go. Somebody needs to be removed from the responsibility of caring for vulnerable folks and possibly charged with several felonies, right now...

There's a lot of home invasion/murders of elderly linked back to a caregiver the victim trusts. It usually involves the primary health care worker and her methhead boyfriend. They will torture and beat some senior to death to get access to their SS #, jewelry and checkbook.

Many that offer services as house/pet sitters or senior 'care givers' are living on the fringe and someone you wouldn't trust in your home, otherwise.

That is probably what would have happened to this lady had her son not been there, armed and ready... If this had been NYC, UK, etc., it would have ended very badly for the victim. The fact that the perp had taken the trouble to cosplay as a visiting nurse and then try to FORCE his way in even after realizing that the gig was up shows the determination and eagerness of this mofo to do harm... Good riddance in this case, he is not gonna be able to do that again.

And an affirm to the second part of your post too. I have done a lot of contracting and repair work in senior care facilities and several times I had the privy of being near the staff-only areas when a group of them was on break... The conversations and vocabulary coming from that area, you'd think you were doing work in a fucking prison rather than a care home...

There are A LOT of things out there that are very politically incorrect and most people know not to bring it up lest they get accused of various unpleasant characteristics, but people tend to immediately notice things that are just, off...
