Hornady 178 BTHP VS 178 Amax

I hear the 178 BTHP has a better BC than the Amax. Would I load them with the same powder loads? Anybody shoot them comparatively?

My load when I had a 308 for both was the exact same, but I worked it up for both.

They may be similar but you will have to work them both up. The ogives are different and slightly different bearing surface. The BTHP are a little more finicky with seating depth.

I like to use my precision mic for seating depth.

I did the same and ended up at the same charge weight and even COAL. They both shoot the lights out but as you said the BTHP has a higher BC.
