Range Report hornady 225gr 30 cal's

Anyone try shooting these out of anything?

I just bought some to shoot out of a .308 for fun, but am excited to try them in my .300 RUM when i get it set up.

Tried loading 1 round just to get an idea of lengths i can work with ect... before i load up a few
Obviously issues with .308, OAL will not fit in mag, need to be single fed. OAL still restricted by hitting lands, so i need to start with low loads to avoid over pressure due to bullet seating depth.

so again anyone play much with these yet?

^ good stuff, not bad for reloading a few quick for some testing.

2500 FPS, i forgot or didn't remember to look what is your barrel length?

that is a solid MV for such big bullets.

how deep was the base of the bullet seated?
were you compressing your charge at all?

again, good stuff, makes me more excited to try these beasts

20.5" bbl, some compression but not bad, bullet bearing surface was roughly at the bottom of the case neck, maybe a tad deeper.

definitely gonna have to pick up some new powders and get some of these loaded up.

Did a velocity test in my 300 Norma. Don't have notes in front of me, but highest velocity was 3100 fps.

I've been shooting them out of my 300WM for a while now. Gone through about 500+/-. They shoot .192 moa 5 rnd group @ 100 yd, & I've gone 3 for 5 on a 18" X 30" sil @ 1950 yd.
With 74.1 gr H-1000 I'm getting 2860 fps in Win brass, & WLRM primers.28" 10 tw Kreiger. Every other bullet I've tried is gone. Sticking with the 225's now.

How would they work on a 300WSM? ANyone tried them ?
