Has anyone tried the lime green tipped Hornady Zombie attack 50gr Z-Max bullets on coyotes at 22-250 (3600fps) velocity out to about 400yds?
How did they perform compared to the 50gr V-Max bullets? Other than the lime green polymer tip they look just like the V-Max to me.
Hornady web site doesn't provide much info on them. Thanks jl

As stated above, they are the exact same bullet. Just a marketing plan to boost sales. I use them for varmint hunting in both a .223 @ 3400 and a .22-250 @ 3750. Both velocities are quite explosive on small game, and drop coyotes like a sack of hammers. Accurate too, with sub-MOA groups consistently.

In 223, the zmax is a vmax with a green tip. In 308, the zmax is an AMAX with green tip. At least, that is what my research has come up with.

get'em and rock on. Been running them in my 223 and 22-250 with good luck. Only had two that passed through a yote, the rest just blew up in the chests and dropped the yote right there. Yotes were all called in and shot under 200 yrds.
