I have good luck with A-maxs myself. I plan to stick with the 168's for now, they do what I need them to do for paper and hunting.

The AMAX bullets are excellent. I use the 178 AMAX in the .308, 140 AMAX in the 6.5 Creedmoor and 208 AMAX in the 300WM. Granted we are sponsored but Hornady but I would use them even if I wasn't as they shoot great and are usually cheaper too. When I first started shooting them I was very pleasantly surprised like you. Also the polymer tip helps keep the BC more uniform for less vertical dispersion at distance. With others yolu have to point the tip of trim the meplat to get that. Good job and have fun.

I have had nothing but great experiences with the AMAX bullets (168's in my 308, 162's in 7mmWSM, 208's in 300WM) They've been easier on the wallet than Berger's and better performing for my rifles than SMK's. I'm going to be taking a look at the 178's in the 308 for my next project. -A

Ripper, I have had excelent results w/ 168 amax, the BC of the 168 amax betters the 168 smk, but what is the BC of the 155 amax, and how much faster can you push them over the 168's. In other words how do you think the 155 amax would do to 1k?

I put a 178 Amax on top of my regular load for 175SMK and let 'er rip. I seem to have better luck with the Amax also.

i dont know....i took a stab at a pig at 1000yd w/155 but missed....mine are doing 2742....on top of 45grn of varget....

just ran a 155 amax through jbm @ my alt and todays weather, 2700 fps, came up with a 31 MOA drop @ 1k
