Hey guys my rifle is firing around 3043 fps, in 1:8 twist, Hornady Mach 2 is .376 G7 for a 1:8.75 twist and they give multiple BC's for different velocities, My Kestrel 5700 only has input for 1 BC what should I use? Currently still using .376...

What ranges are you shooting to? Mach 2 = ~2200fps, so that BC will be very good for a range where your bullet's average velocity is mach 2, 2200fps. Don't worry about the twist difference (only an issue if you aren't spinning fast enough).

I'm working on the same thing. 1:8 twist 7mm RM sending them at 3050. My actual dope seems to take an extra .2 mils per 500 yards than any of the ballistic calculators. The closest I've gotten was Shooter when I entered the banded BCs based on velocity. And even then, I entered the BCs listed for a 8.75 twist barrel.

Interested to see your results. I will be hitting the 1000 yard range again in a couple weeks.

I would if I could figure out how to set it to density altitude.

In AB, I used .376 out to 1068 this weekend and was a bit high. .401 gave me the correct drop but I may have been shooting through a thermal because everyone else was hitting high too.

did you shoot the peacemaker LRC?

Yes, that was the match. Was .2 mil low at 963. So for the 1011 and 1068 shots I took .2 off and made first round hits.

Almost felt like cheating shooting a 7mm against the 6/6.5 rounds.

i came in second right under you with the 6.5cm, i was wondering what bullet that 7mm was shooting, it got pretty windy out there toward the end when i was on the far stages.

Well done! Honestly you shot much better than I. I was using less than half the wind holds that my friend shooting .260.

At 1068 he was holding about 2 mils for wind. I was only at .8-.9. Do you remember what yours was?

It was actually stage 3 that burned me. Far enough for wind gust to blow me off target, but close enough to where I had trouble spotting my misses due to recoil. I actually completely missed one of those targets, didn't see any of my splashes either.

Thank you! Out at 1068 i recall i had 1 mil dialed, missed my first shot and sent another with a .5 hold for a hit. My 6.5 is pretty fast though with 140's at 2908fps.

Applied Ballistics has released their custom drag curve for this bullet.

I was previously using .385 G7 based off Hornady data and my own.

At 1000 yards yesterday Hornady data told me I needed 5.9 mils. AB said 6.1. Actual drops were at 6.0, maybe just a bit more. This is only one data point but I'm hoping to get out to longer range to really test it. 1000 yards is too close for this bullet.

Rifle is a 1-8 twist pushing 3035. DA yesterday was 1900 ft. 69 Fahrenheit. Light rain and almost no wind. I did not hold wind at all.
