Anyone using these.
Back when Midsouth had there 2nds sale on these, I bought several in .270,.284,and .308.

I loaded some 139 grain'ers in my 7mm08 and they shot exceptionally well.
Have also shot a few in my .300 prelimanary results show promise. Could not do lot, since the wind here has been crazy this spring.
Using near max load of 4064 in my 7mm with the bullet seated out as far as the magazine will allow.
Using IMR 4350 in the .300

Thats what I am using, may have to get some rl22 and try it out. According to Midway the ballistic coefficient is .447.

Re: Hornady GMX

I did some load testing working up from 74 to 78gr RL-22 with those 165's. I got pressure signs at 78grs. hard bolt lift and ejector marks. So i settled on 75grs as 74 to 76 grs had same POI. Seems to me that the gliding bullets create higher pressures. Mine are seated .120" off the lands and shooting 1/2" groups at 100 yards and 2" at 320 yards.

Re: Hornady GMX

To get mine that close to the lands I would have to have the barrel pulled cut back and the chamber touched up to get them to seat that close. I think if I did that I would just go ahead and rebarrel. I have shot some 3 shot groups right at a half inch, with a factory barrel, I think I will leave well enough alone for now. Thanks for the heads up on the RL22 I will have to get some and try it out.
