For those with the hornady LNL AP press...... any reason why not to use 1/2" bolts rather than 5/16" that is recommended by hornady?? don't get why you should use 5/16" when the mounting holes are 1/2" in the press??? Also, directions say to mount holes 2-1/4" back from the face of the bench?? 2-1/4" to the center or edge of the bolt hole?? possible to mount further back from the face?? like 2-3/4" to 3" back? why so little set back?? due to added accessories and ammo box catch?

Just want to make sure before I start drilling holes in my new countertop.

Re: Hornady LNL AP bolt mounting question

I used 1/2 inch bolts on mine, I mounted mine back right to where theres a lip on the bottom mounting plate you cant mount it back all the way to the primer tube on the bottom if you try the press will be leaning back due to that lip. I dont have a case feeder for on mine so I cant help with that part.
