Some recommend adding an O-Ring underneath the locking ring of dies to help “float” the die.

I was wondering if this procedure is redundant when using the L&L bushings as they already have an O-Ring. Currently, on my Rockchucker setup I add the o-ring to each die (so now there’s two rings, one on the L&L and one on the die).

I ask because without the additional ring, the dies snug and lock more consistently, especially a sizing die.

Thanks

Sounds redundant to me. Have you ever measured runout using both methods? That will tell you everything you need to know about your set up.

if you don't have a concentricity gauge, I'd highly recommend you get one. Both Sinclair and Hornady make them. If you're going so far as to worry about runout and employ methods to reduce it, you should at least be able to measure your results.
