Hornady's Lock N Load Auto Charge Dispenser

Re: Hornady's Lock N Load Auto Charge Dispenser

I've used it for pistol loads and it works fine. When I weigh 10 charges in a row, I will get 4-5 at charge weight, 4-5 at .1 grain under or over and I may get the odd .2 over or under. This is using Unique powder. The thrower did not work that well at first. I had to re-clean and I wiped it down with a dryer sheet. Seemed to work a little better after that. I have not used extruded powder in it.

I can't detect the variation in charge weight when I'm shooting.

EDIT: mis-read your question. I'm talking about the powder thrower that comes with Lock and Load press. Please disregard.

I use one for my reloads. It has some problems with powders like varget. It will kick out more than it is supposed to. Solved the problem with putting a straw at the end.

Works great, have not seen one ounce of vertical stringing.

Highly recommend.

I returned mine to Midway after 7 months. The powders I use Varget and RL 22 would always overthrow. I tried the straw trick, reprogramming it, and it still overthrew. I also found that it had more variation than I expected from charge to charge. My RCBS 5-0-5 and a normal powder dispenser and then trickling was way faster in the end.
