Rifle Scopes Horus falcon scopes

Re: Horus falcon scopes

Here's my scoop on the subject...

I have owned 2 "older" 4-16 Horus Falcon scopes. The first one I bought used. It was broken. Horus would not fix it but fortunately the guy I bought it from took it back. I was freaking out there for a while

not funny at the time, LOL

The 2cnd scope worked pretty good but the tracking was slightly off. I only used holdovers/offs so it didn't matter to me so much at the time. The glass was actually pretty good and also the scope wasn't heavy or large and it even had illume. I sold it in the quest for a better scope that tracked correctly and with a Horus ret, plus wanting to have CS if ever needed.

Except for not having illume the HDMR is far superior in most every way (except maybe CA in some samples) to any of the standard Horus line of scopes.

If you buy one used and it breaks you are SOL. If bought new you have 1 year before you have to worry.

All that being said I like Horus reticles so much I still have 3 old Horus scopes left. Two Predators and a Hawk. I can't get myself to sell them because I enjoy them too much and I can't afford 3 more HDMR's to replace them. This is a common Horus owner affliction.

Re: Horus falcon scopes

Have the blackbird here, Optics are OK, Turrets are mush, coating on body is low grade. Not likeing the small .2 Mil gride at 8x cant pick .2 from .4, they should have just did half hash marks or went to 2.5- 10X, 1.5X it sucks totaly cant see the reticule well enough. 1.5-8 BLACKBIRD is a FAIL.

Re: Horus falcon scopes

several years ago I owned a Falcon with the H25 or H37, I don't remember. Worked flawlessly for me, after zero'g, I used only Holds. I bought the HDMR because a) I work well with a Horus reticle; and, b) because of the warranty Bushnell offers.
