I just ordered a Sightron SIII LRMD but was wondering about optical clarity compared to the Horus scopes. I see lots of opinions on the Rectile of Horus but was wondering about sight picture and clarity on these things. The reason I ask I just saw one go for $500 on the Accessories list and was curious. I know Im goin to love my SIII cause Ive already played around with one but in the future you never know how things play out. From what I understand the Horus is a true Sniper rectile which can be use for accurate holdovers with the correct ballistics without having to dial in to a specific target. Whats everyones sight picture opinions?

Sightron. Just compared again today to my NF and they are pretty close. The Sightron warranty is good to. Better than what I read about Horus anyway, as I have never had to use it.

No experience with Horus, but the Sightron SIII has great glass for the money, and mine has had excellent tracking.

Well I always wonder when a scope goes for half of what it actually cost. Im sure the sightron will make me happy. Really the only thing that I would even consider a gripe about the Sightron would be the mildot not be actual till 24 times which is the highest power in the one I purchased. Im sure now that Ive bought one they will improve on that next yr and probably make a true tactical ffp and then I will be lurking once again. The cost will probably make its way up too though like the Vortex.

My Nightforce NPR2 reticle doesnt range till 22x

Ive got a S3 also, and couldnt be happier with it. Ive had it on my everyday rifle and its been handled pretty rough and dropped a couple times by mistake and so far the scope keeps on ticking..

I couldnt agree with you more Blackhawk. The SIII is so good I cant wait to see what they plan to do next. Everyone I know loves theirs as will I. Its just unfortunate though. I honestly think we got our SIII's just in time cause when they do improve its highly likely the price will double. You build a scope with optical quality like Sightron throw some true mil/mil dials on it set the rectile to FFP and BAM! You got a $1700 to $2000 scope. Oh and dont forget about Illumination. That can add another $100 on up in price.
