I'm about to pull the trigger on ordering a Hospitaller in 6.5SAUM but use the new carbon fiber layup Manners stock. Also lengthen the barrel to 25" or 26". Wondering if it might be a little too front heavy with the lighter stock and longer barrel. Any advice appreciated.

I personally wouldn't opt for the lighter stock for that particular rifle. Especially if you're lengthening the barrel. What position will the majority of your shooting be done? Prone?

If your planning on more positional shooting and movement then a shorter barrel and the elite tactical carbon fiber stock would be my choice (and currently my next build).

I have the 24 inch Hospitaller and it feels perfectly weighted front to back at 24 inches. I am not sure why you would want to increase the barrel length to only gain 25-50 fps in bullet velocity.

Also, when you start changing the barrel length and the stock, then you are in a full custom build, and the cost jumps sometimes $500 or more. I tried to change some of the things from the other models and my build price was $5,500! My Hospitaller was a compromise and I am glad I went with their pre-custom model. I saved $600 and got all of the features I wanted.

I would recommend that Jewell trigger upgrade. This trigger, installed by the experts at GA Precision, is the best trigger I have ever felt/used.

Good luck and let us know what you finally decide to go with.

You will like that setup as I have one being wrapped up almost identical to what you just wrote out.

I am using a Remington action and the Elite tactical stock from Manners. It will balance itself out just fine once you put your scope and bipod on it. No worries!

I run 27" barrels on my 6.5 SAUM.
