Hot linking photo's issue

Seems 'sometimes' when I hot link a photo from my photo host (imgur) it doesn't alway show up in the post.
However some times it does.

Any idea what the issue is? Hot linked photo from imgur work on all other forums I read/post.

My photo didn't show up in the post above.
The code I was trying to use uses the [ img ] (with out spaces).
Seems to not work.

Seems if I use the [ img ] code rather than the direct link it doesn't show.
Only in this forum though.

I copy/paste the code provided from imgur.
[ img ][ /img ]
Without the spaces.

If you use the IMG tag the image name must end in a compatible extension like .jpg or .gif
