How can I forward mail without triggering a change of address?

The USPS has my residence in Cali, but I need to forward all of my mail out of state temporarily. If I do mail forwarding on the USPS website, does this trigger a change of address where the banks, car insurance, etc start reaching out to me? I am keeping my residence in CA

I think a temporary Forwarding of mail is just that. They don't notify senders. Up to 1 year max I believe.

There are a couple options for you.

Temporary change of address
Fee
Only 1st class, publications and packages forwarded
Better figure on mail running 2 weeks behind

Premium forward (believe we still have this)
All of your mail is collected put in a priority box and mailed to your temp. address. I know on a weekly basis not sure if multiple shipments are possible. been away from the customer service side too long.
There is a fee for this service
I think there might be one more option. Your best bet would be to stop by your local PO and ask.
