I was thinking my Land Rover, but then again, I'm setting it up for SAR, and want to paint it either rescue orange, or yellow. Maybe my lil VW Rabbit, just for the hell of it!

Honestly, a simple light gray is really tough to see airborne. the only paint scheme that will throw you a little the first time you see it is this:

I was on the securtiy team that provided security while it towed through downtown Fallujah to another site. The whole trip I was waitting for someone to shot at with an RPG!

That's not a MiG-29. I believe it is a MiG-25 Foxbat.

The route we had to take was based on roads that could handle the trailer that was constucted at Al Asad. Due to the width of the thing, outriggers had to be welded the trailer. Had to take in account tightness of turns on the road and what over passes we could get under. We did all we could to lessen the threat. our options were limited. Also had to deal with what roads were GO or NOGO due to IED threat. And since we couldn't travel all that fast, had to also factor in the time we toke to get from point A to B. The longer you are on the road with a BIG fucking rolling target, the longer someone has to plan and plot on your convoy. The thing was still leaking Hydraulic fluid due to the way the toke to wings off. Trust me, during that time in 03' no one was running with up armored HUMMV's. We toke our Units Rat riggs, removed the commo shed out the back, rigged makeshift armor from sandbags to old BTR-60 doors. So the route we toke was not taken lightly.

Yes, it wasn't a Mig-29. It was a photo recon FoxBat. The MI tech geeks wanted it to do what ever they do. But there was a Mig-29 there on the site also. None of this is OPSEC, its all open source now.

Ha, I got a kick out of that hyperstealth link. Bottom left was a pic, with the caption being "HMCS Calgary". I had to click on the pic, to see the whole pic larger. (small screen here)

Point is/was, there ain't no way in heck, that Canuckia has a flat-top. Seems we were offered one, once. For a dollar. But our whole navy personnel membership still wasn't large enough to man that one ship.

I was thinking this OP was about the buried Mig 29.

I'm not so sure on a flying object with digital camera, it has contrast - and against a different colored object something should be visible.

It looks cool but look str aight up when an F18 flies overhead next time - they're hard to find.

Besides, the Navy tried all taht funky camo on ships in WW2 - it actually made matters worse so they went back to flat grey..
