As the title says, how do you measure the second stage of a 2-Stage trigger? If I get a 2lb reading with the first stage and a 3lb reading when the weapon fires, is that a 1lb second stage?

Measure the first stage, finish the pull/second stage. Subtract the first stage from the total.

I'm not 100% that's the correct way to do it, but IIRC, that's what I did.

I need to try this, remember the first stage while be heavier meaning the gauge will read that and trip the second stage without changing the reading. I would say support the gun, set the gauge to "0" manually pull the first stage, hold and set gauge on trigger and pull for reading. Never tried that but it makes sense.

Jefes Dope has it. A 2 stage with a 2 lb first and 1 lb second will show 3 lbs total. A trigger with a 1 lb first and a 2 lb second will also show 3 lb total. Pull to the wall, take measurement, finish trigger pull, take measurement. The first measurement is the first stage weight. The final minus the first is the second stage weight.
