Gunsmithing how do you strip a rem 700 action? inside and outside?

I want to get my rifle melonited and would like the whole thing to get fully coated in it so i have a nice smooth action and it to be tough.

When you say "strip", are you talking about taking it apart, or cleaning/prepping the surface?

well I mean taking all of the coating off of the action, inside and out so I can coat it.

I would think if you pulled the trigger and just sent the barreled action to who ever is doing the melonite will do the rest.
