I’ve been reloading for my 6.5 creedmoor for about a year. Just recently purchased Redding competition dies and ADG brass for my 300 win mag. I’ve had success with 153 he A-tips for my 6.5 and wanted to try the 230 gr A-tips for my 300 win mag. Anyone tried them in a 300 win? Are they too heavy for the 300 wm?

Rifle is a Remington 700 sendero SF2, 26” barrel. 10” twist. The A-tips will be used for long range shooting. However I would also like to develop a heavy load for hunting. So if i can get good results with the A-tips i will likely work up another heavy load for hunting.

My go to load for my win mag is a 230 Berger Hybrid - 2805 fps from a 26” 10 twist. Excellent accuracy to a mile. The 230 is not too heavy for a win mag, but you will probably need a 9 twist to realize the full BC potential of the A-Tips depending on your environmentals, velocity, etc.

I don’t think there is much out there that’s heavier than the 240’s and the 240 is the heaviest that I have experience with.
My experience is at sea level with the 10 twist and it stabilizes just fine.
Has a lot of energy left at 1000 yds which is the longest range available to me.
The 240 over 67grs of IMR 4831 is my go to load.

I just purchased some 230’s and some ADG brass. Now I just need powder, everything is out of stock at the moment. Once I have all components I’ll come back with some loading details and range report. I have access to 1050 yards.
