How improve my 264 Win Mag?

Ok I have a stock standard Winchester mod 70 XTR in 264 win mag. It has a 24inch barrel. Its bedded and floated, it has a Tasco 3*9-40 scope(its crap) I want to make this into a tack driver at 500 yards. Since my nearest gun shop is 100k away and the 264 mag is not popular over here. Any help would be great. I am not worring about loads, just the rifle. new barrell etc......

From what I know of those things, they shoot pretty well already. But the ammo is expensive here on the mainland, cant imagine what it would be there.

Do you load your own? Unless the barrel is worn out, I would just shoot it. I bet it shoots well.

Hydro556 thanks mate. Well I am having a few issues at the moment. I reload due to the fact that brand name ammo is-
Highland $40 for 20 (140grns)
Winchester and federals around $70 for 20 thats Australian. Alittle dear.
I am at the moment using ADI 2209,highland brass and little 87 serria hollow point.Along with Taipian 120,130 and 140s. But mainly the 87s. Barrell is great,throat is excellent, Stock algood. Probly shootting about 1inch n abit at 100yards. Not real good. But I am pretty sure my scope is the problem. I cant event see the holes at 200yards on 9 power.
Looking at scopes at the moment.
