How many MOA of adjustment, and which way are you guys getting on your centerfire rifles (like a .308) between using the supprssor and shooting with it off? Just wondering if I'll have to adjust my zero stop too.

Re: How many MOA

sniperaviator,
As I wrote in your other thread, it will depend on the can and the rifle. Doorkicker had a 3moa shift with his 308, I have a 0.5MOA shift with an SAS can on a GAP crusader, and 427 Cobra has zero POI shift. I honestly don't think you can tell until you get the can on the rifle. And, as i stated earlier it really doesn;t matter. Get a non-suppressed zero, add the can and write down the shift. It will be consistant.

Re: How many MOA

I have a 15fps gain using my shark on my 308using 155's pushed really hard, my can has been on 3 other peoples bolt guns and CKAs AR10, with no adjustments made ChadTRG42 made hits on a Larue popper at 735 yards at Rifles Only, CKA shot a 3 shot group at 600 on steel that measured less than 3 inches, all in rapid succession, with no shift, when every single piece is made by a CNC machined that accounts for tool wear this is possible, David is not in bussiness to get rich, his goals are to put out nothing but quality, hence the cost, too machine Ti is no small undertaking, so the cost of his cans is expensive compered to others, but things that hand built by one man usually are, David flys 737's for one company while I fix 37's for another, if you sniperaviator trust other FAA liscened people trust me when I say get a Shark.

Re: How many MOA

Once you zero with a can on that's the only way you are going to want to shoot. Your data between suppressed and unsuppressed will remain the same. So if the can shifts you say 2 MOA and you zero for that you know when you have the can off your zero and all other data will be 2 MOA high.

Re: How many MOA

RayDog's answer is a good one. So is the comment about not really knowing until you try things on YOUR rifle. Hang a weight on any barrel and all bets are off. All other people's experiences are nice to know but the information is anecdotal. There is simply no way of knowing how much POI shift you might experience on your rifle with any particular suppressor until you try it.

And understand the shift might not just be vertical!

Suppressor design IS part of the equation (i.e. some suppressors are less likely to have a lot of shift) but in my personal experience weight on the barrel makes more of a difference.
