I was wondering what everyone else sends downrange in a typical afternoon of shooting longrange. I typically shoot from 50 to 100 a trip but a buddy of mine thinks that 50 would be in excess. I am guessing people send alot more than I do.

i will take multiple guns and shoot 100+ but never over 200

I too take 2 or 3 guns, and sometimes shoot 100 to 150, my buddies usually only shoot 50 or so, sometimes less.

It depends on what I shoot. Also, it depends on what I try to accomplish that day and what the wind is like.
50 BMG-- probably no more than 30 rounds in one session.
338 LM-- about 25-35 rounds.
300 WM-- about the same
308 Win-- any where from 50 -75 max.

I should be thankful that I live in AZ. I am bitching about driving for 1.5 hours just to shoot 1900 yards. I guess everything is relative. Don't forget to shoot me a PM next time your are out this way LT.

No, not to worry. 2 spinal fusions. Live for the day!! This time last year I was still post-op from fusion number 2. I can still shoot prone and 50's aren't hard recoiling as much as protecting your ears from the overpressure.No shoulder issues!!

I go to the range 2-3 times per week (12 minutes from my house). I usually fire 3-5 rounds each time and try to make them count.

600y club is 35 mins away, so I try to make the time once a week during the spring/summer/fall months.
Lately I've been running a lot of 223's out there, 4" and 6" steel targets at 300-600y and I try to get the rifle setup, check the wind, figure an appropriate hold, and fire 1 round. Note the impact and try an immediate 2nd shot if there's no hit.
I get up, walk back to the bench, then re-engage at another target after I get settled again. Usually about 50 rounds a day with bulk components. Bulk 223's are cheap, brass is easy to find, and it's decent practice without recoil so I can work on fundamentals.
I do shoot a LOT of 22LR out to 300y, occasionally 400y.
When I bring friends it's generally more ammo since as soon as they connect at 600y for the first time they end up burning another 20 rounds down the range.
If I'm doing load development, I mix that into the practical practice.

Whe I shoot for proficeincy about 100 rounds for my carbine and 50 for my pistol. Then around 75 for my Remington. But I did go shoot a M107 this past weekend and put 100 rounds through it.

i work after work.

During the Ft Lewis 1000 yard league you shoot "Unlimited" sighters and 3 strings of 20.
I generally fired 3 sighters for the first few matches and kept it to 2 a fter that.
So 66 rds in a match - not unheard of -

Range time at least once a week. Usually take one rifle out at a time. The 500m range is 10 min from my house and the 2000y+ spot is only about 45 min.

7-10 and a good amount of dry fires. I like to go and spend about an hour really thinking about what I am doing, shoot slow, and get my groups as accurate as possible.
