Finally got the Smithmount installed on my M1A and have it bore sighted with a Leoupold Mk4 6.5-20x scope on it. With a 100yd bore sight zero I have about 13MOA of elevation left. I haven't gone to the range yet but just kind of wondering ballpark how much you get. Hoping it actually shoots high and I can drop it some, but just wondered in advance.

13moa won't get you very far. I believe that scope has 70moa elevation. You shouldn't have used up that much to sight it in unless your bore sight is way off. How far away did your bore sight it? I think your bore sight is off or maybe the mount may not be on right. Is it level/parallel wih the barrel?

Well good news went out to the range and thankfully the laser bore sight job wasn't correct. Had to come down about 2.5 revolutions on the turret. So all is well now. Reason i was worried is that everything was level. But all is working well now.

Glad it worked out.
I need 36.25 moa above the 100 yard zero to get to 1000 yards with my M21 & 175gr GMM. 13 moa should get you to 550 yards or so. Sounds like you have plenty of elevation to work with.
