Rem 700, 5r Krieger barrel.308
Just got the barrel back from Krieger and measured the lead using a 175smk and found .015 until the bullet contacts the lands. My 700pss in .308 had around .070+ and shoots great.
Now I'm limited to seating the bullet to 2.80.
Is this normal or should the lead be longer?

Re: How much jump?

Generally speaking, less jump is better, factory Rem chambers are huge, your new Krieger has a tighter chamber which is good. I don't make it a habit of running my bullets into the lands on tactical rifles but I run'em close, and most bullets don't mind the jump, just load to mag length and see what happens.
