I have a trued action and a barrel to chamber. The barrel tenon is .075 smaller than the current barrel OD. That leaves me with .0375 for a shoulder against the recoil lug. Is this going to be enough or should I get a larger OD barrel? Thanks.

The barrel shoulder is critical to reacting the tenon joint loads, you need more material there to create a properly stabilized joint.

Are you talking about setting it up like a Savage? The barrel was given to me so I am not set on using it. If setting it up like a Savage will work then I might give that a try. This is going to be my first chamber cut.
