I have seen multiple cases where homeowners have shot someone through the front door, and didn't get charged. And at least one was just some drunk guy banging on the wrong door. Let alone a couple armed bangers trying to kick in the door.

Dallas county, 50 50 chance he’s charged, but a good example of having the right tool for the job, just have a 12 gauge, wait for the door to give, and cut them in half. Then again my doors have the plates screwed through the studs, so I have time to make a sandwich while they are kicking at the door.
