How stupid can you possibly be.

apparently, the official looking stuff is very convincing and this is not terribly uncommon. they made a decent movie around it.

I hope reincarnation can go backwards in time so that in her next life she can experience honest and often desperate labor.

74 yr old being scammed, resorts to bank robbery to pay the scammer (prob cleaned out her own accounts):

Only gives minimal details of scam but was someone posing as a Customs Agent.
Victims come in all shapes.

She needs to become a Hindu sith a red spot on her forehead.

I can’t even imagine what she was thinking. Alarm sirens should have been blaring.

If I call Amazon and they tell me that my account is being hacked, I hang up and call my bank. Amazon wouldn’t know what’s going on with my bank account and neither would a government employee.

Hindsight is always 20/20, though.

I’ve read that this is caused by ego. People fall for a little bit of the scam and their ego won’t allow them to reverse course because it would mean admitting that they did something dumb.

It’s the same thing where a small lie becomes bigger and bigger until someone ends up at a point of no return (broke/jail/dead).

If someone did this to my parents, I’d be livid.

How do you google Amazon's customer service number and... not get the actual Amazon CS number...?
That’s easy to do. There’s lots of fake results when you ask google for stuff.

She should have started on Amazon’s site and contacted them directly through the tools available on their site.

She probably typed something like “Amazon customer service phone number” or “how do I contact Amazon” and clicked on the first link and ran with whatever was there.

Thing is, I googled Amazon Customer Service and then did it with "phone number" too. The first two results are in fact Amazon. After that it's a lot of reddit and stuff but if the first result you get is legitimately Amazon...

The latest Ukraine strike on a Russian airbase showed that 'sleeper' FPV drone pods can be placed almost anywhere and activated when they need to be. That is what needs to be done with scammers. A pod of FPVs operating in pairs with a 40mm HE frag attached to the kamikaze bot and a camera drone behind it recording the interception of the target and kaboom. 4 pairs to a van or a disguised decoupled trailer parked in nondescript locations in known scammer hotspots in various countries. As soon as a scammer or scammer nest identified, the nearest FPV pod activates and the buzzers sent in for the kill. Watch how this shit stops as soon as the third or fourth scammer nest gets their innards blasted all over a room by detonation overpressure, livestreamed and in HD from the trailing drone...
